Program Area Director: Program Area Director is a critical role that aims at providing Project Execution Leadership for the main projects globally. This role has three key responsibilities: Coach Project Managers for large projects. Partner with project managers in world areas on key international projects (Multi EPC’s and/or multi countries) Be the main point of contact for global projects for selected Key Accounts.

The incumbent is accountable for project quote to cash execution and KPIs for these projects. Additionally, incumbent drives efficiency, speed, and cost savings for projects to support desired lead-time, on-time, and margin improvements.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and Execution

  • Partner with key stakeholders, specifically World Area PMO leaders, sales, and operations to understand their project portfolio and goals
    Achieve improved operational excellence in delivery and margin uplift and proactive management of issues and challenges to allow time to solve or mitigate the situation
  • Lead development and implementation of the project execution strategy, financial metrics, and customer satisfaction for all projects within the identified scope

Organization and People:

  • Coach, develop and motivate extended project management team to achieve optimal project management performance
  • Partner with world area PMO leaders to develop and improve overall project management capabilities within an organization
  • Support all project teams executing projects Processes, Systems, and Tools
  • Adhere to global standard processes; support training efforts of the team on globally standard processes

Relationship Management:

  • The key point of contact for projects with key end users; ensure end-user standards are implemented globally
  • Participate in internal/external planning meetings to ensure alignment as needed; interface with customers as required
  • Global point of escalation for dedicated projects
  • Build solid relationships with World Area leaders in operations and sales as well as peers in the PMO organization globally
  • Participate in customer calls, meetings, and visits as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related field is required and an M.S. or MBA is preferred
  • 12+ years of experience with strong leadership, execution, and results leading the large complex program
  • Broad experience in managing a portfolio of programs and full cycle program execution to ensure customer and business requirements are met
  • Experience with a variety of contract types
  • Significant experience working on industrial projects for multiple industries and end users in multiple world areas
