University of Notre Dame Review 2019: The University of Notre Dame is a private university founded in 1842 with a Roman Catholic background. The suburban university is research-based and sits on 1,261 acres of land. It has consistently received recognition as one of the best Universities in the USA, especially for its undergraduate programs.

The school has six undergraduate colleges: Business, Arts and letters, Architecture, Science, Global affairs and Engineering. Its School of Architecture is famous for teaching and promoting New Classical Architecture, besides awarding the annual Driehaus Architecture Award to top industry performers.
Besides the 15 summer programs, the university also offers at least 50 yearlong study abroad programs. It offers over 50 graduate programs for masters students, as well as for professional doctoral students. It also teaches law through its Law School and has partnered with the Medicine School at Indiana University to offer an MD-PhD program.
Most of its undergraduates occupy the 31 residence halls on campus. Just a small fraction live outside the campus. Each hall has its own legacies, intramural teams, traditions, and events.
The university’s sports team, known as the Fighting Irish, are part of the NCAA Division I. Its football team has been a strong pillar of the school. It may not be affiliated to any conference, yet it has won many accolades for the university.
